Oakland Mediation Lawyer
Finding Alternative Solutions to Complex Disputes
Resolving complicated family law or personal disputes can be difficult and at times emotionally charged. Addressing the issues involved in a fair and objective manner is made easier with the assistance of a trained mediator or arbitrator to guide the process. Using such tactics can bring amicable and cost effective resolutions to even the most challenging of issues, allowing your family or business to move past a divorce or other trying legal issue.
From my firm, the Law Office of Shelley A. Gordon, I offer advanced mediation and arbitration guidance. For more than 23 years, I have assisted countless clients throughout Oakland, California and Alameda and Contra Costa Counties in finding satisfactory resolutions to divorces, breach of contract issues and real estate disputes.
Experienced Support in the Search for Resolutions
I have worked diligently to create a pleasant and comfortable environment for clients to discuss their unique issues. This atmosphere allows me to provide effective alternative dispute resolutions for family law and breach of contract or real estate disputes through:
- Mediation: Often a good option because it is less expensive and more hands on in nature, mediation allows you to play a large role in the outcome of your dispute. In this model I act as a neutral party, not directly representing either party involved in the dispute. Mediation is often useful for clients with children or those interested in maintaining an ongoing relationship with the opposing party as it allows both parties to reach a mutual agreement without the emotional strain of litigation.
- Arbitration: Functioning as a private judge, an arbitrator rules on the issues. My role throughout the arbitration process is not to negotiate but to listen to both sides and render a decision based on the facts presented. This decision can be offered during a binding or nonbinding hearing, providing clients the ability to choose to accept the final ruling or seek resolution elsewhere.
Contact my office to schedule a consultation to learn more about my alternative dispute resolution services and whether they are appropriate for your unique dispute.
I offer a free 10 minute phone consultation to discuss your preliminary concerns or answer a brief question. If you are interested in a more in-depth meeting to discuss specific issues and obtain advice, I offer an affordable flat fee initial office consultation for $200. Should you choose to retain me, that fee is applied toward the retainer.
